Community Education

The Community Therapeutic Day School considers itself a part of the larger community of educators and mental health care professionals and makes every effort to offer in-depth insight into the complexity of children and families.

Workshops and Trainings

Our organization provides frequent workshops to the community in some of the following professional areas: sibling groups, self care for parents and neuropsychological evaluations.

Graduate Student Training

CTDS provides training and internships to graduate students from local universities in various disciplines including special education, social work, child psychology and psychiatry, expressive therapy counseling psychology and occupational therapy. The interns are an integral part of the program and receive weekly supervision from licensed staff in their respective disciplines.

UMass Medical Teaching Affiliation

We have a teaching affiliation with the medical school department of psychiatry and offer annual teaching opportunities for the child psychiatry residents to experience our program, receive teaching in neuropsychological evaluations and child psychiatry. Nancy Fuller and Daniel Reinstein have teaching affiliation appointments.

“What brought me to CDTS serendipitously 13 years ago was the word “therapeutic” in the school title. What has kept me here has been the incredible vitality and integrity which embodies the word “community”.” —Therapeutic Teacher
