2005-2006 Art Show

“3D and ME”

In preparation for our 2006 art show, the children participated in two art-making sessions. In the first, the children were directed to simply “make a person using Model Magic”—a soft fast-drying modeling clay. In the second session Art Coordinator Steve Brennan used the art works of the Ancient Greeks, Cycladic Art, Henry Moore, Giacometti and many others to demonstrate the use of space and form. The children were then instructed to use these influences to create their second sculpture, focusing on the use of negative space and the suggestion of form. What you see if the impressive results of their vision and inspired work.
